Workshop 2
Advances in Computational Psychiatry
Chair: David Kennedy
Neuroscience, and neurotechnology specifically, is advancing
at a rapid pace. Advances in
computational power is converted into advances in observational technique,
which yields ever more precise and abundant information about how the brain
develops, functions, and occasionally, functions incorrectly. This workshop
explores three exemplary topics in the area of neuroinformatics techniques
applied to the understanding of psychiatric brain disorders. By crossing scale,
species and cognitive domains, we are gaining new insights into the etiology of
brain disorders with an eye towards the development of effective treatment and
prevention.
